No stars, for the same reason daytime photos have none
The claim
“Space is full of stars — why is the sky black and empty?”
What is measured
Apollo cameras were set to expose a blazingly sunlit surface, so faint stars couldn’t register, the same reason daytime and floodlit-stadium photos show no stars. The sky is black from exposure, not an unpainted set.
What would show this is wrong
a correctly-exposed sunlit-surface photo, on the Moon or Earth, that also shows background stars at ordinary camera settings.
